Scoreboards are built-in spreadsheets for your LiveSchool data. They allow you to answer countless questions like:
What are the top positive behaviors in our school?
Which students have earned 5 or more demerits this week?
In this article we talk about the types of Scoreboards, what data you can view on a Scoreboard, and how to add the various filter, sorting, and logic options to organize your data.
Scoreboards is one of the reporting tools in Insights
Just like Dashboards, there are various types of Scoreboards.
The type of Scoreboard determines what is shown in the rows of a Scoreboard.
Make sure you’re viewing the time frame you’re focused on using the time selector in the top right corner.
Click the time selector and choose from one of our preset or custom time frames:
The columns on a Scoreboard tell you (from left to right):
Similar to Timeline, you can filter Scoreboards to only show data for specific behaviors. Add a filter for any of the behaviors, or the behavior categories, on your rubric.
Clicking the header of the merits or demerits column will allow you to add a filter to the Scoreboard for behaviors.
Adding a filter to either the merits or demerits column applies the filter to both columns.
You can click the header of any column (except the ratio column) to sort the data on the Scoreboard, from highest to lowest or lowest to highest.
You can also add logic to any of the columns (except ratio), if you’d like to see all students with more, or less than, a specific number of merits, demerits, spent, etc.
For example, see all students with more than 10 demerits by adding logic to the demerits column, like in the video above.
Weight By Points is all about the point value of behaviors. It's meant to help you see the number of times a point or reward was recorded, rather than the total points. Here’s an example to understand how it works:
Imagine that you record 2 behaviors for a student, each worth +5 points. The student’s point total will calculate as:
10 with Weight By Points “On”
2 with Weight By Points “Off”
There are a few ways you can use this setting on the different scoreboard types:
Turning Weight By Points "Off" also hides the Bonuses, Earned, and Saved columns, since these columns are unaffected by this setting.
You can download a CSV of the Scoreboard you’re currently viewing using the Download button in the bottom right corner.
Just like Dashboards, you can click on any of the numbers in the Merits, Demerits, or Spent column to view a pre-filtered Timeline with that data.
For example, if you click on the number of Merits for student Amonti Hunt, you’ll be taken to Timeline with a student and point type filter – showing all of the Merits that Amonti Hunt has earned.
